There was this doctor that was travelling from India to England. At the airport, the way he was dressed was absurd so the airport police kept a close eye on him thinking him to be some sort of a terrorist. After sometime, the man was arrested and sent to be searched. He was molested and abused by the police officers who had no idea he was a renowned surgeon. The search was such an abuse but he did not utter a word.
During the process of the search, a lady started shouting for help and was dying but no emergency response team was readily available. This surgeon quickly warded off the threat around him and rushed to the aid of this lady but not without the police on his heels thinking he was escaping. The surgeon was able to save the lady and one of the doctors on the emergency response team recognized him as a renowned surgeon. At that instant something happened, can you guess?
The police officers were amazed but the harm had already been done. They apologized profusely to the surgeon and they saluted as if the president had just arrived. You can imagine their body temperatures that day. lol
That brings me to a saying by someone " society may have a fiction story about you but never challenge their mentality. Just keep silent because it takes only one day to change the untold story. All you need to do is build the ability to smile when there is the need to cry".
We need to be patient with the views of others and let our actions not words speak for us. I like the motto of the Holy child school which goes " facta non verba" and when translated it reads" actions not words". This is the attitude we need to develop, we need to let the people who have thought ill about us change their own perception. Do not challenge them, do not fight them, do not mince words with them because these things only widen the gulf of understanding but just stay calm and let the storm understand you. Let the raging winds calm down themselves because in an attempt to forcefully calm them, the intensity might increase and forever that mind set remains.
Forge the ability to smile when problems arise.
Do you have a problem? No
Then why worry?
Do you have a problem? Yes
Can you do something about it? No
Then why worry?
