Yo Geng , do you guys remember we used to argue on which school is the largest when we were in shs right?

It’s not a bad thing o , but I want to ask , all those large acres of land , we came to meet and we have left and some are still not in use. Students are punished to weed when they are at fault.

Almost, every shs in Ghana has some land to spare , I completed shs in Accra so let me talk about the schools in Accra.

The likes of Accra Academy, Odorgonno , Accra Girls, Ebenezer senior high and others have large acres of land and are not in use . The weeds grow , we cut them down then they grow again. Same cycle.

Okay so my point is a very tough one but very realistic. What if these lands are used to build more classrooms, more teachers bungalows, more canteens and other important facilities to boost learning.

Also the land can be used for farming. Each house will have a quota to farm on it. This will boost agricultural entrepreneurship among the youth from SHS.
Some of the things we import , we can learn to grow them.

Benefits; - After Junior High school, more students make it to senior high school.
-Reduction of the unemployment rate.(People would be paid to build, more teacher would get work , people would sell at these canteens )
eg; the Angumo lady can expand her business. Imagine delivering daily to shs too in addition to what she’s doing now.💡

Expected Questions

1. Where would we get money to do all these ?
The funny thing is , the money invested in these projects bounces back to us .
The constructors would pay tax , the workers too , the students even pay tax unknowingly.

The money would come back eventually, not so quick but gradually and you know what , we have gained double 💡.

2. If more people go to the senior high school, university would be choked , so what happens there ? Go to university of Ghana , Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and technology, University of Cape Coast , From UGBS to Upsa hostel, that land , I ask again what are they there for ?
