When a lamp goes off

When a lamp goes off
Darkness falls and
Hopes are lost with memories
Replaying itself out loud
In our hearts and in our hopes.
When a lamp goes off,
Evil lurks and there's always
A light at the end of the tunnel.

When a lamp goes out,
Hopes are shattered and Dreams are shortly cut,
Insects that hovered around scatter
And birds that lingered for insects
Seldom stay anymore longer.
Vipers can no longer be spotted
And scorpions may be mistaken for an insect.

There's a household in know in which
The darkness that is created
When a lamp goes out, is celebrated,
For fear of their deeds revealed by
The light shining from that lamp.
When salt loses its taste
What else could it be used for?
It must be thrown down to be trampled on.

I, am the light shining from that lamp,
Celebrate and be merry
Not after when my light goes off
But when I, am still bright with
Light, not when my light goes off.
Don't keep your treasures to buy flowers and wreaths
And it could be used to increase a human wealth.

I, am a lamp giving out light
But my oil is seldom enough now
To keep me living among men.
Do, if you must, can and should help.
Oil my lamp now that my light is of use,
Save me now from going out of oil,
Not waiting until my light goes off,
Then you all gather to show off.
I've fallen off the lamp stand, help me up.
A life is worth much more than a wealth show off.
