Kotoko's striker Sogne Yacouba hit a brace which saw Kumasi Asante Kotoko won 2-0 against Glorious Accra Hearts Of Oak in the Super Sunday of the Clash of the Titans
Yacouba's 2 shots on target in the 38th minute saw Kotoko to be up by 1-0 and then in the 69th minute again saw the away side to be up 2-0
Malik Akowuah in the 38th minute was crushed with the ball which made Hearts players particularly calling for an infringement.The referee opted for a continuation of the game.
Prince Aquah then fired a thunderbolt which forces a punch from Goalkeeper Enerst Sowah with Striker Sogne Yacouba in a perfect placement which broke the virginity of the game.
Hearts worked hard trying all means to equalise whilst Kotoko maintained the goal before the break
In the 2nd half, both teams came with a much confidence and a different fighting spirit. The velocity of both teams were equal just that Kotoko's mental toughness was enough for them to get the 2nd goal.
Robert Sowah who was guarding the ball from Yacouba earned a red card after he fell down and then used his hand catch the ball like a goalkeeper
In the 69th minute, Hearts were attacking Kotoko before they lost the ball to Sogne Yacouba who was at the right side of the defense. He quickly passed the ball to Jordan Opoku who also gave an incisive pass to Yacouba for the latter kick the ball into the net.
The Burkinabe import had a simple chance to increase his tally to 3 but unfortunately, the ball was saved by a substitute Ben Mensah
Sogne Yacouba was adjudged the Most Valuable Player of the day.
Technically, Kotoko played as guest today and will play as the home team on September 2, 2018 during the 2nd leg.
