The Western Region Powerlifters Association (WRPA) organises the FIRST EVER, WESTERN REGION STRONGEST EVENT dubbed STRENGTH FOR SANITATION. The intention is to create an enthusiastic awareness and also promote good sanitation in the region and the country at large.
The global sanitation problem requires urgent attention. The Millennium development goals(MDG) sanitation target, to halve the proportion of people lacking access to improved sanitation by 2015, is seriously off-track. Today, 2.5 billion people still lack access to basic sanitation. In many parts of sub-Saharan Africa, less than half of the population uses a toilet fit for human beings. One billion people do not use toilet at all. In South-East Asia almost
40% of the population defecates in the open.
WRPA believes that the future of every society undoubtedly, rests on the shoulders of the conscious youth. Hence the need for the youth to get involved in their own ways to promote the sound environment.
The event is scheduled to take place on the *22nd September, 2018*
