Sometimes you need to quit

I met a primary school junior of mine yesterday. I knew for a fact that he was in SHS 1 as at April 2016. Apparently, he had realised that a technical education would not help him reach his dreams in life, so he came back to join his juniors, who were two years behind him, to write the BECE again, and be able to obtain a more relevant high school education._

His bravery reminds me, a lot, of Ebony Reigns. It also reminds me of the countless coward young people in this country, who kowtow to the status quo even after they've realised how detrimental it would be to their life goals.

Opting out cannot always be equated to failure. Sometimes, stepping down is exactly what you need to scale up.

I understand that all your life, a certain perfect picture of a certain perfect future has been painted for you by every institution of authority; from parents to schools, to church and even by the media. I get that!!! I get it, that a certain path to attaining that perfect future has been shown you. And that makes you feel like a failure when you step down from a venture.

Don't be deceived, not all quitters are losers. There are times that you cannot win if you do not quit. There times that you need to quit one thing in order to better position yourself to achieve a better option.

There are times that only a wise quit can insulate you against a great defeat.
