Courageous woman

1. Print me down in history
With your hateful lies
Drag me in the mud
And yet, like a seed, I sprout.

2. Does my strength of heart upset you?
Why are you impregnated by hate?
'Cause of my strength of moral wings,
To fly above your cultural cage.

3. Just like moons and like suns
Certain of supply of light
Just like visions embodied and yet real,
Still I will sprout.

4. Do you wish to see me broken?
Stooped head and lowered eyes?
Melted like butter in your scorching hate?
Weakened by outdated selfish cultural norms?

5. Does my strength of soul upset you?
Do swallow it like a bitter pill
'Cause I live like I own a gold mine,
Digging inside my farmland.

6. I am the tree planted by the Riverside,
Which will not wither with the draught,
I the rock, the river, I the tree,
Here, root yourself beside me.

7. You may shoot me with words of hate,
You may entangle me with your schemes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like a root by the river, I'll sprout.

8. Does my courage offend you?
'Cause I've got a head of my own?
Does it come as out of the norm
That I live by my own terms?

9. Does my sexiness incite hate?
'Cause you wish me caged by your culture?
That I speak like I've got precious stone
At the meeting of my thighs?

10. Out of the chains of history's snare,
Out from past that's rooted in shame,
I sprout like a prunned trunk beside the river,
Rising above your chain of traditional greed.

11. History, despite its wrenching pain,
Cannot be unlived, and if forced with courage,
Need not be lived again,
I lift up my face, I have a piercing need.

12. Women, children and men
Take it into the palms of your minds,
The image of tomorrow from your past,
Each new hour holds new chances.

13. I sprout out from the snare of cultural chains,
Into a free and unpolluted world of freedom,
Bearing the gifts that my future holds,
I'm the dream and hope of the cultural slave.

14. I shall sprout
I will sprout
I must sprout
I, s-p-r-o-u-t!!!!
